As the disciples go forth to spread the good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection, they are challenged by our God who is ever more inclusive and expansive. In today’s reading from Acts, Peter is called by the Spirit to proclaim the good news to the family of Gentile Cornelius, eat with his family, and baptize this group already filled with the Holy Spirit. Likewise, the Spirit of Christ sends us forth to set tables of mutual sharing and learning with others across human-made divisions and boundaries.
