Immanuel Lutheran Church has a dedicated staff in addition to wonderful volunteers who serve as the backbone of our ministry. Meet our pastor and administrator below:
Greetings Child of God!
In January 2016, I moved to Vancouver, WA to serve Immanuel Lutheran Church. Having grown up in Vancouver, I share the Pacific North Westerner’s love of nature and connection to the Spirit. At Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, WA I studied Biology and Chemistry. I love learning about different cultures and peoples, having lived in Germany briefly in high school and The Gambia, West Africa as a Peace Corps volunteer after college. This love stems from seeing all people as valuable to God and translates into a passion for welcoming all people into the body of Christ. I also believe that creation is valuable to God, which translates into a passion for caring for the Earth. Above all, I am committed to God’s mission of healing lives by supporting people struggling with poverty, mental illness, addiction, injustice, or anything that keeps them from experiencing abundant life. This commitment led me to seminary at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, CA and into the ministry. We are all on a journey of seeking wholeness, so it is my deepest joy and privilege to worship, grow, and serve alongside all whom God brings together.
Blessings on your journey of faith!
Emily Leckie, Office Administrator and Youth & Family Coordinator
I have worn several hats during my life, I first began working as a Nursing Assistant while attending Weber State University in Ogden, UT. After graduating college I began working as a private nanny and house manager and did so for 11 years. I grew up in Washington, but moved to Utah as a teen and lived there for several years. In 2015, my family all moved up to Vancouver and fell in love. It took several years for me to find a church that I loved, and began attending Immanuel in 2022. I quickly became involved in the youth and family outreach program. In 2023, I began my journey as the Office administrator here at Immanuel. I love my job, and it has become my passion. Serving with the people of Immanuel has been an exciting adventure with many changes in the time I have been here. On my days off I enjoy spending time outside with my son, and working on my small business.
