Welcome and thank you for joining us! In the appearance and spirit of Elijah, John the Baptizer enacts repentance through baptism in the wilderness in order to prepare the people for the kingdom of God. To fulfill righteousness Jesus is also baptized and as the spirit descends on him it is announced that he is the Son of God. We too are prepared through our baptism for living in the kingdom of God and called beloved children of the Most High.
