After finding the book of the Law (Deuteronomy), King Josiah enacted reforms to return the people to faithfulness toward God and to justice toward one another. Today, we ask God to help us learn from our Holy Scriptures so that we might carry God’s words in our hearts, in our words, and in our actions.

Isaiah’s vineyard song begs us to ask the question, “Does God abandon God’s people?” As we hear in the song and remember from Paul’s writing, the witness of scripture is the answer “no.” God does not and will not abandon God’s people.

God is steadfast and faithful in the midst of our occasional faithlessness. We celebrate, trust, and recommit to God revealed Christ who does not give up on us.

All Saints Sunday celebrates the baptized people of God, living and dead, who are the body of Christ.
