Just as Jesus is sent to proclaim good news to the poor, bring healing to the sick, proclaim release to the prisoners and freedom to the oppressed, we too are empowered by the Holy Spirit to proclaim, heal, and release. On this Baptism of Our Lord Sunday we hear John and the Psalmist calling us to repentance. This is a turning of our whole selves back to the Lord so that we can live in right relationship with our God and with one another.
