On this Baptism of Our Lord Sunday we hear John and the Psalmist calling us to repentance. This is a turning of our whole selves back to the Lord so that we can live in right relationship with our God and with one another.

On the second Sunday of Christmas, we find the holy family in the temple meeting Simeon and Anna who prophesy about the workings of God through the life of the baby Jesus.

In the depths of winter, we welcome the light of the Christ child. The angels declare that Jesus’ birth is good and joyful news for everyone, including lowly shepherds. Filled with the light that shines in our lives, we go forth to share the light of Christ with the whole world.

Gracious Creator, in moments of uncertainty, we turn to you with hearts heavy but hopeful. We gather in your presence today, hearts brimming with gratitude for the extraordinary gift of love you have bestowed upon us. May the celebration of love extend beyond our immediate circles, creating ripples of compassion and unity in the world.
