Grow Hear, 0 Israel: The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. Keep these words that I am commanding you today in your heart. Recite them to your children and talk about them when you are at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you rise. Bind them as a sign on your hand, fix them as an emblem on your forehead, and write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.-Deuteronomy 6:4-9The Holy Spirit grows our faith when we invest our time, talents, and resources in practices that connect us with God and God's people more deeply. Bible StudyMost Sundays after service at 11am several people meet to explore the scriptures and sermon topic from the day. Come join us is exploring the questions of faith, such as, “what is God doing in the world and in our lives?”; “how do we respond to situations as followers of Christ?”; “what difference does the Spirit of God make?” and much more. We won't give you pat answers but we'll explore together, learn from one another, and connect with God in community.
Book StudyRecognizing that God continues to speak in today's world, we gather on Mondays at 12:30pm to discuss a chapter a week from a book we're reading. We learn and grow together by engaging with questions and ideas brought up in books like The Mission Table by Stephen Bouman; Pastrix by Nadia Bolz-Weber; Reclaiming the “L” Word by Kelly Fryer, Parables and Passion by John Indermark, and much more. Our latest book is Convictions by Marcus Borg, so come join us for fascinating reads, stimulating conversation, and engaging spirituality.
Sharing Faith StoriesSharing one's story of faith strengthens our own walk with God by pointing out what matters most to us, witnesses God's love and faithfulness to those who are on their own spiritual journey, and brings God into the center of our lives. It is a powerful experience that everyone at Immanuel Lutheran is encouraged and taught to participate in during opportunities to give a temple talk in church, share in a small group, connect with community members in one-to-ones, and write out for devotionals, newsletters and other publications. Let the pastor know what faith sharing ideas you have for our community.
